Loftus Peak is pleased to announce that it has been listed as a finalist in Money Management’s Fund Manager of the Year Awards in the Global Equities category for a second consecutive year.
The Loftus Peak Global Disruption Fund has been selected for inclusion in the final five for the award of 2021 Fund Manager of the year (Global Equity category) from Money Management.
The Fund was initially shortlisted for the award based on a quantitative screen that relied on returns over one-year and three periods (with a tilt towards the former); the Fund’s three-year return of +24.8% p.a. and one-year return of +40.5% to 31 December 2020.
2020 was a challenging year for everyone, and our thoughts are with those that continue to be impacted by COVID-19. For investors, it was a year of acceleration in disruptive change. Secular trends such as e-commerce, streaming, cloud computing/data centres, machine learning and artificial intelligence all gained significant traction as they underpinned much of what enabled consumers and businesses to continue going about their lives at a distance. While given impetus by COVID-19, these were trends that were already playing out in the world, and we believe will continue to play out in the years to come.
“In such a turbulent year, we are incredibly proud to have delivered superior returns to our clients, and to have been named a finalist in these awards. We believe it is a recognition of Loftus Peak’s investment philosophy – a future-focused approach, with an emphasis on quality, risk and valuation”, said Chief Investment Officer Alex Pollak.
More about Money Management awards:
Money Management’s Fund Manager of the Year Awards is a well-known and not to be missed event. Due to the pandemic, we’ve had to deliver the event virtually. The Fund Manager of the Year Awards Live Stream 2020 attracted over 700 viewers live and on-demand.
For the past 33 years, Money Management has been celebrating excellence by hosting the Fund Manager of the Year Awards each year.
In 2020, we evolved the Money Management awards to ensure they reflect the skills and talents across the entire Australian fund management industry. For the first time, all funds available for sale in Australia were eligible for the awards. Additionally, to ensure that the quality of the awards remains consistently high, we worked with some of the key stakeholders in the industry. The approach to this year’s award is no different, utilising a whole of market approach and drawing the expertise of our awards partners. Importantly, the judging methodology allows the award partners the flexibility to use their in-house methodologies and ensure that their unique skills help to determine the final outcome. It is a testament to the belief of the judging panel that they have supported this approach and are willing to invest in helping to recognise the best talents in our industry.
