America’s business strength is rooted in its political foundations that spring from the US constitution: free speech, free enterprise, the rule of law and democracy. It’s why 9 of the world’s 10 largest companies are US domiciled, with the strength of the “Magnificent 7” a function of their ability to execute globally, for example in Europe and Asia.

But the political foundations are being eroded – executive orders are functioning as laws, rather than those made by Congress and the Senate. There are also issues around the weakening of judicial independence, and pressure on the Federal Reserve.

Exceptional companies depend on exceptional regulation. What will happen to these exceptional companies as the political situation changes?
